I. Daily Maintenance of Chrome Plated Rods
1. Cleaning
Wipe the surface regularly with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and oil. Stubborn stains can be treated with a neutral detergent or a dedicated chrome care agent. Avoid using cleaning tools containing abrasive particles.
2. Rust Prevention
Short-term protection: Spray with anti-rust wax or soak in anti-rust oil, and reapply regularly.
Long-term protection: A secondary hard chrome plating can restore corrosion resistance, but this is more expensive.
Extreme Environments: We recommend using vapor phase anti-rust packaging or vacuum-filled nitrogen storage.
3. Environmental Control
Avoid contact with acidic and alkaline substances, high temperature, and high humidity. Park in a dry, ventilated area. Dry immediately after rain.
II. Rust and Damage Repair
Minor rust: Rub with toothpaste or copper polishing paste using a soft cloth in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly and wax. Plating Delamination: Minor areas of delamination can be polished with a fine oilstone to prevent the spread of rust. Larger areas require professional electroplating repair.
III. Regular Maintenance Recommendations
Check the condition of the anti-rust coating every 2-3 months and wax regularly to form a protective film.
Stress-bearing areas (such as reinforcements) should be polished after every 2,000 uses.
Avoid scratches with hard objects. Remove any remaining anti-rust oil before assembly.
IV. Special Precautions
Control the stamping temperature for chrome-plated parts in molds. Keep away from the plating layer during welding or use protective measures.
Automotive chrome-plated parts (such as exhaust pipes) should be protected from exposure to hydrochloric acid and undergo special inspections every 3 months.
